All teams are requested to take note of the itinerary below which will explain the day to day events and logistics of SAC 09. We will be using Mesilau Resort as our base of operations from the 10th-12th April 2009 and teams will be allocated a dorm bed (or chalet if you wish to upgrade to a more comfortable accommodation with friends and competitors) and all meals will be organized at Mesilau Resort for breakfast and dinners. All briefings and race start locations will be at Mesilau Resort for the 11th and 12th April 2009.

Teams will be transferred back to Kota Kinabalu at the end of the race to hotels in downtown Kota Kinabalu. All Mt.Bikes will be loaded in mini trucks destined for 2 locations only to avoid confusions and logistical nightmares:

-Hotel Mega D'Aru, Tanjung Aru
-Hyatt Kinabalu

Teams will be responsible in loading their Mountain Bikes on to the relevant trucks for either destinations at the end of the race on the 12th April 2009 before prize giving ceremony commences. Loaders will be available to help unload Mountain Bikes at the hotels but will NOT release any Mountain Bikes to anyone who cannot identify themselves according to each Mountain Bike and relevant team number.

**We recommend the Mega D’Aru as this will be a convenient location for both registration and equipment checks along with a bike shop, supermarkets, food outlets and close proximity to Air Asia and MAS airport terminals.

*Accomodation is not provided for 9th April and 12th April 2009. Teams may book/pay for accommodations at either Mega D’Aru Hotel or Hyatt Kinabalu during registration of you need us to organize this for you.

*Teams will not have access to their Mt.Bikes after 6pm on the 9th April until the next morning on the 10th April.

*Friends and family can elect to stay at Kinabalu Park HQ as well and to follow teams during day 2 and 3; kindly contact the race management at spartan01@sabahadventure.com for more information please.


*Distance from KK to Kg.Lobong-Lobong is 2 hours at least. More information will be available on January come with GPS co-ordinates and sat photos of the village site, which will be our camp site for the 10th-11th April 2008. Drivers are requested to drive safely on the road leading to Mesilau as there are some minor landslides, lifestock and children living in villages and homes along the road. Caution is advised. The road leading to Mesilau Resort is tar sealed.

 

 

Important Notices:

  • Teams are required to attend a pre-race equipment check and official race briefing on the 9th April 2009 at Hotel Mega D'Aru, Tanjung Aru. Please refer to itinerary for specific times.

  • All teams will be transported back to Kota Kinabalu at the end of the race on the 12th April 2009 and expect to reach Kota Kinabalu after 8pm; and

  • Teams are encouraged to arrange their departures from Kota Kinabalu on the 13th April 2009 as we don’t expect to get to Kota Kinabalu after the race till after 8pm and cannot guarantee airport transfers on the day.

What's Included in the Registration Fees:

  • All race entries per team include race maps and race course notes.

  • All race entries include official race bibs and race t-shirts per team.

  • A complete photo CD is included as part of your 2009 registration package captured by a team of professional photographers covering the race and teams can collect their photo CD's after the 14th April 2009 or fill in a postage envelope during registration which will be posted to you with your photo CD with high quality photographs of the race.

  • 3 power bars per competitor 

  • 3 power gels per competitor
